Writing a blog about gardening is something I have wanted to do for quite some time now but I had been toying with the idea of when was the best time to start. Then, just as I’m sure you can all relate to, other things came to the forefront in my life. Following this I then developed a fear about setting up a blog – I’m more an outdoor person than a technology minded person – how on earth would I go about creating a blog site? What if others don’t like it? Where would I even start?
That’s when inspiration struck like a lightening bolt. As well as being a good lesson for me to learn, I thought I would share it on my first post.
Seize the day, seize the opportunity, seize the laptop (in my case) and seize the garden spade.
For those of you who have always wanted to give gardening a go but the very thought of where to start sent you running to the hills, don’t let fear take control. No time is better than any to begin a new adventure and the best time is right now, this moment! Come rain or shine, freezing cold or sweltering heat, gardening is always a possibility as it can be done inside the home or out in the garden.
You don’t have to be an expert, remember even experts have to begin somewhere. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your background is, gardening can be fun for all. Yes, like anything in life, gardening can sometimes provide challenges but it is also very rewarding and teaches valuable lessons in life. Not only that, gardening can keep you physically healthy by being active and by eating your fresh home grown produce, but also mentally fit. Picking and eating your first ever home grown tomato will make you feel like you’re on top of the world! In addition, gardening can help to cross boundaries and allow people from all walks of life to meet and begin new friendships. These are only a few things that gardening has the ability to achieve, there are so many others. So are you interested to find out more?
Whether you are new to gardening or a bit rusty and need helpful reminders or have a keen interest in gardening and like to experiment and share ideas, I hope that you will all find something to take away from my blog.
My aim of this blog is to keep things simple. Just as gardening might be something new to some of you, blogging is indeed an entirely new concept to me! So lets all dig in and start by planting that first little seed in our lives to see where our journey takes us.
There’s a world of roots to be discovered!
